The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that already there are two candidates to head the joint operations headquarters.

The head of state said at a press conference ”Challenges-2018”.

“Against the candidate for the post of head of the joint operational headquarters, I gave two weeks to chief of the General staff and the defense Minister to offer me candidates. Two candidates are already ready, I want exhausted the list. It will be the military generals who have experience of command teams, connections in the East of our state, have a high reputation and I think they will be able to use the new opportunities for defense of the state provides the law on reintegration,” – said Poroshenko.

Poroshenko also noted that, despite the war in Eastern Ukraine and Russian occupation of Crimea, it is necessary to appoint a civilian defense Minister of Ukraine.
