Bills related to reform of the committees and their members.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the draft law No. 7550 “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding the distribution of positions in committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the principle of d’hondt”.

For a decision voted 241 MP.

The bill provides change of an order of allocation of posts of Committee chairmen, first deputies, Deputy chairmen, secretaries and members of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“On the principle of d’hondt these positions are distributed among parliamentary factions after one another. The next in the sequence position gets parliamentary faction, which has the largest quota (specific to two decimal places), which is calculated by the formula K = f : (P+1), where f is the total number of members of the parliamentary fraction, and N is the number of seats won parliamentary faction up to this step,” – said in the explanation.

After the faction member was appointed, the quota for the faction are listed according to the number of this political power positions. After approval by the fraction of statements about the election of a Deputy for a position in the Committee, it is passed to the Verkhovna Rada.

The MPs also voted for the bill number 6256 “About committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” and “On Central Executive authorities” on the optimization of the work of the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the relation of objects to their reference spheres of activity of ministries”. It provides for the establishment after the elections to the Parliament on 20 committees which will be engaged in the same activities, and ministries.
