The claim will involve not only assets but also income.
A few days ago, the national energy company “Ukrenergo” gave the Russian leadership a formal notice of investment dispute against the assets of the company in the occupied Crimea.
This was announced by the head of company Vsevolod Kovalchuk in Facebook today, April 10.

“We cannot close our eyes to the enormous losses and move on as if nothing happened. It is only our Crimean power grid costs about $ 1 billion. It is thousands of lines, dozens of power substations and so much more, not to mention two pensions, which previously had revitalized the Ukrainian energy sector. In addition to the property, we lost more and profit from its exploitation. The money had to go not only to the company account, but in the state budget of Ukraine in the form of taxes and dividends. Why do we have to restore justice and to regain lost. Russia needs to answer for the robbery, which is already recognized by all civilized countries of the world”, – stressed in the “Ukrenergo”.
Ukrainian company in this case are lawyers of international law firm Covington & Burling LLP, which earlier helped to file a similar claim “Naftogaz of Ukraine”.
“If we fail to settle the dispute peacefully until the end of September, we will be able to file a claim in international arbitration against Russia, as had been done by “Naftogaz”. Our claim will involve not only the property which we lost due to the annexation of the Peninsula, but revenues that fell short for such loss,” – said the Ukrainian company.

It is noted that the envelope was received by the Minister of foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, Russian Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Minister of justice Alexander Konovalov, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
28 February 2018 the Stockholm arbitration has obliged “Gazprom” to pay “Naftogaz” more than 4.6 billion U.S. dollars for the undelivered volumes of gas for transit under bilateral agreements. Earlier, the court reaffirmed the debt of Ukrainian companies for the supply of gas amounting to two billion US dollars. In the end, the results of two arbitration of disputes between companies regarding the supply and transit of gas “Gazprom” should pay the NAC of 2.56 billion dollars.
