Wednesday, April 11, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the phone spoke with the Prime Minister of great Britain Teresa may. Spoke in particular on strengthening sanctions against Russia.

“The President thanked the British side for the continued support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and non-recognition of the results of the recent illegal elections in the occupied Crimea. There was also a discussion of strengthening sanctions in response to Russia’s aggressive actions. The sides discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the sphere of security and defense”, – said the press service of the head of state.

Poroshenko also expressed solidarity and Britain concerning the poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia in Salisbury. The President said that Ukraine is ready to assist in the investigation if necessary.

Mei thanked Ukraine for solidarity with Britain, and once again condemned the Russian aggression in Donbas and Crimea.

At the same time Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the support of Ukrainian reforms. In this context, they also spoke about the preparation of the second International conference on reforms in Ukraine in Copenhagen, which will take place in June.

The President invited British Prime Minister to visit Ukraine on an official visit.
