The adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on anti-corruption, the court may postpone the increase in utility tariffs in Ukraine, which is a requirement of the International monetary Fund.

“If we manage to adopt a law on corruption court, taking into account the key conclusions of the Venice Commission, we will have the chance of winning trust in the relationship with the IMF, to agree on phasing or delay the lifting of tariffs. And what we’ve been very closely and actively working,” he said, noting that conducts talks with the IMF and other partners of Ukraine.

Earlier, the international monetary Fund said that Ukraine needs to fulfill the promises on the harmonization of gas prices to market under the loan program. The IMF recalls that 2016, the year Ukraine agreed to settle the price of gas at external market rates, but the government’s failure to implement decisions froze lending from the Fund after the last two tranches in April 2017.
