Ukrainian border guards will celebrate the professional holiday in April.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the decree about establishment of Day of border guards in Ukraine on April 30.

The head of state said during a speech at the Sofia square in Kyiv on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the border service of Ukraine.

“As President and Supreme commander of the APU I decided to change the date of celebration of the professional holiday of the border guards. Has signed the Decree about establishment of Day of the border guard on April 30 in honor of the 100th anniversary of our state border service”, – he said.

100 years blue-yellow border

The state border service of Ukraine is descended from the special military units of the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921 years. 30 APR 1918 Ukrainian troops near Kolpakova set their characters on the border of the Ukrainian state, to two high pillars, painted in the colors of our flag.
