The President of Ukraine gave an interview to the German edition.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in an interview with German magazine Focus said that it expects the United States and the European Union for close cooperation in establishing the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass and sanctions against Russia.

The message about the interview in his Twitter posted the Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Andrey Melnik.

“I expect between the US and the EU closely cooperate regarding the establishment of a UN peacekeeping mission. And better coordination of sanctions. They are an important lever to bring Russia to the negotiating table and the implementation of the Minsk process,” – said the Ukrainian President.

According to him, the peace process required a breakthrough that could provide a peacekeeping mission.

“This could be a peacekeeping mission, which would bring the necessary security and the holding of free and fair elections in the East of Ukraine”, – said Poroshenko.

“And, please, Russia, we do not require anything wrong, just go back to the civilized world and withdraw your troops,” – said the Ukrainian President.
