Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman addressed to the Supervisory Board of “Naftogaz” to reconsider the decision regarding charging high premiums to the company management.
It is reported by Interfax.
According to him, he sent an official letter to the Supervisory Board of the company and was asked to inform the Cabinet about the results of the review of awards.
“My position here is very clear: it is an inflection,” – said Groisman.

However, the Prime Minister explained that this decision is not within the competence of the government. “NAC is a company that is guided by an independent Supervisory Board. It is not the competence of the government, and independent advice,” said the Prime Minister.
Informed the Supervisory Board of the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” made the decision on the payment of bonuses to employees of the companywho participated in the prize court with the Russian “Gazprom” in the Stockholm arbitration.
The total amount of premium will be 1% of the winnings ($4.6 billion), that is 46.3 million dollars. This money will be paid VAT in excess of 9 million dollars.

Thus, Naftogaz is trying to recover from the Russians the money they owe by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration Tribunal for violation of the terms of the contract. We will remind, on February 28, 2018 the Stockholm arbitration has obliged “Gazprom” to pay “Naftogaz” more than 4.6 billion U.S. dollars for the undelivered volumes of gas for transit under bilateral agreements. Earlier, the court reaffirmed the debt of Ukrainian companies for the supply of gas amounting to two billion US dollars. In the end, the results of two arbitration of disputes between companies regarding the supply and transit of gas “Gazprom” should pay the NAC of 2.56 billion dollars.
March 21, Gazprom appealed the decision of the arbitration on the contract for the supply of gas. The company requires full cancellation of the decision of the Stockholm arbitration on the dispute with Naftogaz for gas transit. The Russians filed in court of appeals district of Svea in Sweden. The Russian company accuses the Stockholm arbitration to “serious violations of Swedish law and arbitration rules, the Stockholm chamber of Commerce”.
