The court of appeal of Svea, the Swedish district suspended the execution of the decision of the Stockholm arbitration in lost gas “Naftogaz”.

It is reported by the Russian Interfax with reference to the press service of “Gazprom”.

So, the Russian company said that the court of appeal agreed that there was sufficient justification for suspending the decision of the Stockholm arbitration. This decision, in their view, deprives Naftogaz the right to seize the assets of “Gazprom” abroad.

It also noted that they will use the decision of appellate court for withdrawal of arrest of the assets of the company in Switzerland and the Netherlands. In accordance with Swedish legislation, the court of appeal decision cannot be appealed.

Earlier, the court reaffirmed the debt of Ukrainian companies for the supply of gas amounting to two billion US dollars. In the end, the results of two arbitration of disputes between companies regarding the supply and transit of gas “Gazprom” should pay the NAC of 2.56 billion dollars, and also a penalty. March 21, Gazprom has also appealed the arbitration decision in a contract for the supply of gas.

Also in early March , Gazprom warned early termination of bilateral agreements with the Ukrainian side.
