The Ministry assured that they are preparing an inter-state statement of all Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin.

The European court of human rights considers the prisoner of the Kremlin, the Director Oleg Sentsov is a citizen of Ukraine, so the Ukrainian government will be invited to participate in the case of the political prisoner.

This was announced on his page in Facebook the Deputy Minister of justice of Ukraine – Commissioner of the ECHR Ministry of justice Ivan Lyschina.

“The European court of human rights responded to the proposal of the government of Ukraine on the application of rule 39 of the rules of court against Oleg Sentsov. The statement of the government of Ukraine to join the case of Sentsov. After the communication Affairs of the government of Ukraine will be invited to participate in the proceedings as a third party in accordance with article 36 §1 of the ECHR. This paragraph provides that “in all matters which are considered by the Chamber or the Grand Chamber, a High Contracting Party whose national is the applicant, may submit written comments and take part in hearings”. Consequently, the court considers Sentsov is a citizen of Ukraine”, – he stressed.

He was accused in Russia of preparing to commit terrorist acts in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta. May 14, 2018 Sentsov announced an indefinite hunger strike. The only condition for termination is the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who are on the territory of the Russian Federation.

On may 28, the Federal service of execution of punishments stated that Sentsov has agreed to supportive therapy. This information was confirmed by the Ukrainian lawyer Dmitry Dinze.
