UK is in the process of leaving the EU.

Kyiv and London are working together on issues of growth, trade and investment between the two countries after the withdrawal of Britain from the EU.

“The UK is in the process of leaving the EU, Ukraine supports the intentions of the UK in the context of avoiding any loss in trade between the parties. In particular, both countries welcomed the ongoing consultations concerning the continuity of application of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU that includes a deep and comprehensive free trade area, which contributes to the trade of 2.35 billion US dollars between the two countries after the withdrawal of Britain from the EU”, – stated in the message.

The UK has informed Ukraine about the agreement between the EU, which was reached at the European Council in March regarding the fact that in the context of application of international agreements concluded by the EU, during the transitional period Britain must be considered as a member state of the EU. This will provide additional confidence both British and Ukrainian traders that during the transitional period will not infringe existing trade relations, and in particular, during the transition period preferential conditions for free trade between Ukraine and the EU will continue to apply to both parties.

Both countries have agreed to work together in the context of intensification of trade between Ukraine and the UK.
