The Ukrainian President believes the statement of the head of the Kremlin another proof of the annexation of the Crimea.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko drew attention to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he acknowledged that the Russians had organized an illegal “referendum” on secession of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.

“I don’t think that everyone noticed it, but Putin said: “We (meaning the Russians) held a “referendum” and captured him. Not the Ukrainians, not the Ukrainian government, the Ukrainian people, and they held a “referendum”, – said Poroshenko in the air of ICTV channel.

“I think this is another convincing proof of the illegality of the annexation, and we must work together in order to return to Ukraine”, – said the Ukrainian President.

We will remind, after meeting with U.S. President Donald trump in Helsinki on 16 July , Putin said that the American leader does not recognize the annexation of Crimea. But the Kremlin has “another view”. “We believe that the referendum held in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. For the Russian Federation, this issue is closed,” – said Putin.
