Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine may be in the center of a spy scandal. Internal documents of the mission probably came to the Russian security services.
This is stated in the investigation of the TV program FAKT German TV channel ARD, which showed the evening of 17 July. Brief description of the results of the investigation published on the website of broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) on Monday, July 16.
In the German journalists was the copy of the digital media on which is stored inside the mission reports about the events in the occupied territories of Eastern Ukraine. Also there is evidence of communication of the Deputy head of SMM Alexander hug. In addition, the media contains a mini-dossier on the mission. It describes traits, susceptibility to alcohol use, financial situation, what types of women they like, and the like.

According to the investigation FAKT, all this information was in the possession of an employee of the Federal security service (FSB) of the Russian Federation. “The investigation shows that the documents could be handed over to the Russian agents from an employee of the OSCE mission,” – suggest the German journalists.
Alexander hug in an interview with the FAKT declared: “Now we can’t say exactly what happened. We need further detail”. The Deputy head of mission added that the OSCE SMM seriously any threat to the security of the mission members. In the OSCE, he said, will check the situation and take necessary measures.
The Russian Embassy in Berlin at the request of the journalists replied that information on this matter – outside their jurisdiction.

About 700 international observers involved in the mission of OSCE which works in Ukraine since March 2014. In General, the mission has nearly 1,200 employees, including many local positions of translators, advisors and administrative staff, writes the news Agency dpa. 26 members of the mission come from Germany.
