The UN experts urged Russian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Oleg Sentsov. They stressed that his life is in danger and need to provide him with medical care.
“Life Sentsov is in imminent danger. His hunger strike was the result of the trial and sentence, which violates international law. We urge the Russian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release him,” – said in a statement, the four special rapporteurs.
Human rights defenders, the UN has called on the Russian authorities to immediately allow Sentsovo access to proper medical care and to provide it only with the consent of the convicted person.

Recall, 25 August 2015, the Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in a strict regime colony. He was accused in Russia of preparing to commit terrorist acts in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta. May 14, 2018 Sentsov announced an indefinite hunger strike. The only condition for termination is the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who are on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Sentsov refused to ask Putin for pardon. According to his lawyer, he has a very low pulse, anaemia and heart problems, but the hunger strike to refuse he is not going to.
