The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged Russia to enforce the cease-fire in the Donbas from 00:00 on 24 December.

“I call on Russia to ensure strict observance of the ceasefire and the implementation of other agreements, in particular, for the immediate release of hostages and illegally detained persons, including in the Russian territory”, – wrote Poroshenko.

The President of Ukraine hopes that the ceasefire in the Donbas will be ongoing.
“I hope that thanks to these measures that will be implemented in the eve of new year and Christmas holidays, the ceasefire in the Donbass will begin to be permanent.
“Ukraine confirms its readiness to perform as this and other Minsk agreements”, – he said.
As reported, on December 18 militants unleashed a fierce battle with the military forces of the antiterrorist operation in the area Svetlodarskoye arc, in the Donetsk region.
