However, the court of Appeal decided a new solution.
The appellate court of Kiev cancelled the resolution on the arrest of the owner of “Eastern European fuel and energy company” (VETEK) of Serhiy Kurchenko.
This is stated in the court order posted on the official website.
It is noted that on 28 December 2016, the panel of judges considered the appeal filed in the interests of the suspect Sergei Kurchenko, the resolution of the investigator of the judge of Pechersky district court of Kyiv from may 10, 2016, which granted the petition for election concerning Kurchenko measures of restraint in form of detention.
By results of appeal consideration by the panel of judges allowed the appeal of lawyers of the Bank and cancelled the decision of the court of first instance.
However, the Appellate court decided new decision, which denied the petition of the state office of public Prosecutor about election against Kurchenko of a measure of restraint in form of detention.
We will remind, on March 22, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared to the Ukrainian oligarch-fugitive Serhiy Kurchenko a suspect for crimes in the banking sector.
Earlier, the GPU announced suspected Kurchenko in embezzlement of state enterprise of PJSC “Ukrgasdobycha”.
In may, the court on motion of the senior investigator of the Prosecutor General arrested the property of Sergey Kurchenko.
