Residents of villages in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, located close to the Dniester, protest against construction of HPP cascade on the river. Ambitious and expensive project aims to give Ukraine the opportunity to get more energy, but scientists warn about the price of this – the destruction of unique flora and fauna, and objects of historical heritage, says the story TSN.19:30.
In the village of Horoshova about seven hundred farms, most of which are located on the banks of the Dniester. People fear that in case of reservoir their home just go under the water. Nine years ago, the peasants have survived a flood, when a lot of flooded yards and then the water rose to 6 meters, the reservoir must be larger by as much as 9 meters. “Those people behind us flooded,” – says a resident of the village Natalia Vasilyuk.
