Trump has expressed the desire to work with Kiev to settle the conflict in Eastern Ukraine

The President of the United States Donald trump during a meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin assured that want to cooperate with Kiev for peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbas.

This is stated in the message on the White house website following the meeting, trump and Vice-President of the USA Michael Pence with Klimkin.

“The Vice President emphasized continued US support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He stressed that the Minsk agreements remain the most viable path to peace. After this meeting the President talked with the foreign Minister and reiterated U.S. support for Ukraine and his desire to work with our Ukrainian partners to peacefully resolve the conflict”, – is spoken in the message.

Recall that U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson will act as the advocate of Ukraine in negotiations with Russia, and Washington can join the Channel format.

This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.

He noticed that Tillerson well-informed about the aggression against Ukraine in Moscow, he also discussed various options to resolve the situation. The Minister added that the US is likely to join Ukraine, Germany and France in talks with Russia, but stressed that is important, not the format of negotiations, and their effectiveness.

Earlier in Washington ended with the meeting the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov with the President of the United States Donald trump and U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson. As reported by Lavrov at the final press conference, the question of lifting the sanctions against Russia was not discussed.

“The sanctions we have not discussed is the unilateral action of the US administration,” – said Lavrov.

During a meeting with trump discussed the Syrian and Ukrainian issues. According to Lavrov, “at the meeting agreed to solve international problems together.”
