“Freeze ears to spite my grandmother.” In the Kremlin commented on the desire of Ukraine to introduce a visa regime with Russia
In the Kremlin commented on the initiative of the Ukrainian deputies about the introduction of a visa regime with Russia.
This is reported RIA Novosti citing representative of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov.
“Some kind of hypothetical reasoning in this case is hardly possible and appropriate. Let’s wait for the next round in such Russophobic discussions. You know that this issue has repeatedly tried to put on the agenda, but each time it still lacked some remnants of sobriety, sober judgment, in order to address this issue. Let’s see what happens this time”, – he told, answering a question on possible Russia’s response to Kiev’s actions.
According to Peskov, such a move would hit the interests of the Ukrainians themselves.
“This is again one of those “freeze ears to spite my grandmother.” Nothing more. You know how such a move can hit the interests of the Ukrainians themselves. It would be difficult to overestimate, probably, the negative effect for the citizens of Ukraine”, – said the representative of the Kremlin.
He noted that the issue of visa restrictions Moscow, as a rule, is based on the principle of reciprocity.
We will remind, in the Verkhovna Rada today about the possible number of votes of people’s deputies for the introduction of visa regime with Russia. This was stated by first Deputy Chairman of the faction “popular front” Andrew Teeruk.
According to Teteruk, the Parliament conducted outreach on this issue. Note that the deliberation on the introduction of a visa regime with Russia earlier reported mass media with reference to sources in the PPB and the PF.
After two years of the war in the Donbass and the illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens in the Russian Federation in October 2016 in the Verkhovna Rada the idea was announced for the introduction of a visa regime with Russia.
