The Kremlin did not like the law on the reintegration of Donbass

Russia does not agree with the wording adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on de-occupation of Donbass and it is not going to be responsible for what is happening in the occupied territories Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

This was stated press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, answering the question about Russia’s readiness to bear responsibility for the fighting in the Donbas, Interfax reports.

“Of course not. Russia does not agree with the wording of the question in this way because it is contrary to the spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements. Russia is not a party and a party to the conflict,” he said, adding that this is stated in the Minsk agreements.

According to Peskov, Russia did not agree with what she called the new law an aggressor, believing that the adoption of this law set back the prospects for settlement of the conflict in the East of Ukraine.

“Such steps, as, for example, the adoption of this law, only distance us from the desired goal. Russia will keep its commitment to the letter and spirit of the Minsk agreements with other countries-guarantors – France and Germany; we continue to advocate for the implementation of the Minsk agreements to achieve a resolution of this internal Ukrainian crisis”, – he added.

As previously reported, on Thursday, January 18, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on de-occupation of Donbass “On peculiarities of state policy on ensuring state sovereignty of Ukraine on the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.” Before that, the deputies two days was considered about 600 edits to the document. It officially recognizes Russia as an aggressor.

In turn, the leader “DNR” Alexander Zakharchenko said that the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on de-occupation of Donbass will result in the escalation of the armed conflict.
