“Naftogaz of Ukraine” does not understand why the Russian “Gazprom” has returned the money and refused to resume gas supplies from March 1. Also Kiev will seek damages because of this failure.

In “Naftogaz” said that they paid the bill that put “Gazprom”. Ukrainian company considers the refusal of the Russians from the delivery of the gas paid as a breach of contract and failure to fulfill the decision of the Stockholm arbitration.

“We made a prepayment for Russian gas, as performed by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration. Refusing to supply gas, for which he was paid, “Gazprom” makes impossible the implementation of the “Naftogaz” the court’s decision on the purchase minimal contractual gas volumes,” – said the Chairman of the Board of “Naftogaz” Andrey Kobelev.

He said that over the past four years “Naftogaz” has similar problems with gas supplies from Europe were not. Ukrainian company appealed to European partners to analyze the reliability of the counterparty, which can invoice, get the money and refuse to deliver gas.

“We also suggest to our European colleagues to consider whether to allow such counterparty to increase its already significant impact on their market through the construction of “Nord stream-2”, – said Kobolyev.

Meanwhile, in “Gazprom” noted that he refused to deliver because, they say, is not signed a supplementary agreement to the current contract.
