Russian citizens are serving sentences for crimes against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
Kiev is ready to exchange 23 Russian citizens who are now in prison for serious crimes against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
This was announced by first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative to the subgroup on humanitarian issues TAG Irina Gerashchenko on air of “112 Ukraine”.
“Indeed, today in the Ukrainian prisons are serving sentences for serious crimes against the territorial integrity, sovereignty those Russians that “we are not there”, which was actually delayed by the war for their particular involvement in the conflict under the guise of so-called “militias”. But, obviously, that supervisors, not the “militia”. And actually, the Ukrainian side is ready to transfer these prisoners, but we also want to free the citizens of Ukraine”, – said Gerashchenko.
First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament added that “if the Russian side claims that “we are not there,” the Ukrainian side says that no, you’re here. 23 and now the Russians are in Ukrainian prisons. We are ready to transfer them to the liberation of the Ukrainian hostages.”
Recall, April 4 will be held the next meeting of the Trilateral contact group on settling the situation in Donbas, where the participants will discuss the exchange of prisoners.
