At the Institute of criminal Executive service (IWIS) commented on the measles outbreak among the students.

As it turned out, the first case of measles became known on March 24.

“Cadet, who was treated at the place of residence outside Kiev region, was hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of measles, what timely notified the State institution “Center of preventive medicine of the Ministry of internal Affairs”, – is spoken in the message of the Institute.

After identifying this case, assured in IUIS, was a series of sanitary-epidemiological and preventive measures aimed at preventing the spread of infectious diseases. In particular, was carried out sanitation of the room in which resided a sick student and all areas in which it could be.

Also, the Institute confirmed that for the cadets was made a separate power schedule, a separate route to the place of accommodation and activities to avoid contact with other students.

At the same time in IUIS assure that no sick student on campus is not. And those cadets who had contact with patients, are inspected daily by health workers.

Also, the Institute denied emergency call to one of the cadets on 5 April, as reported earlier, citing sources.

Overall, as of April 6 at the Institute with symptoms of measles were identified 7 people.

“It is important to note that 100% of the AC staff of the Institute vaccinated twice against measles. All patients received qualified medical assistance, four of them hospitalized in medical institutions, the other three, which have a mild form of the disease, undergo outpatient treatment under medical supervision at the place of residence”, – is spoken in the message IUIS.

The Institute also reported that on April 6, they had verification of a physician-epidemiologist GU “the Center for preventive medicine of the Ministry of interior”.

“It is established that the Institute of penal service have taken all the appropriate preventive measures stipulated by the legislation and departmental normative-legal acts, which is confirmed by appropriate certificate”, – assured in IUIS.

Note that measles can be deadly. Measles is an acute infectious disease caused by RNA virus. It is extremely contagious. The virus is easily transmitted from a sick to a healthy person through airborne droplets.
