The Prime Minister believes that the increase in payments to parliamentarians at the time.

The Cabinet did not support the initiative of the Verkhovna Rada to increase the salaries of MPs.

This was announced by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.

According to him, the government is now considering the proposed Parliament amendments to the Budget in 2017, but the initiative about increase of salaries to deputies and will be rejected.

“We will not support the initiative of the deputies to raise to themselves the salary almost doubled. I think that this question is not relevant. Now we all need first of all to think over how to raise the income of ordinary people”, – Groysman wrote in Facebook.

He added that officials have factored in the project budget increase of salaries of teachers and doctors, and overall social standards.

“For the second reading, the government intends these positions only increase”, – he concluded.

We will remind, earlier deputies of the Verkhovna Rada almost doubled his salary: the relevant provision is contained in the draft State budget for 2017, which the Parliament adopted in the first reading. The document establishes the base salary of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to 43.5 thousand hryvnias, and his deputies to 40.6 thousand. The wages of “ordinary” people’s Deputy will be about 36.3 per thousand.

The decision will increase budgetary expenses on the maintenance of the MPs 250 million hryvnia.

43, 5 thousand hryvnia for speaker, 40 thousand – for Deputy and 36 thousand hryvnia each MP next month. This decision was contained in the draft budget for 2017, but the document on the new social standards of civil servants, unlike the main estimates, needs no re-vote, nor in the President’s signature.
