Antimonopolschiki put “Gazprom” account on 172 billion UAH

The court will continue consideration of the claim of the AMC November 21.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine demands from the Russian “Gazprom” a total of 172 billion UAH, including a penalty and a penalty for its untimely payment.

This was announced by the representative of the AMCU in the Economic court of Kiev on Monday, transfers “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“For the delay of 140 days of accrued penalties in the amount of UAH 180.5 billion. However, in accordance with article 56 of the law “On protection of economic competition”, the penalty cannot exceed the amount of the fine, therefore, the Antimonopoly Committee filed a lawsuit to recover 85,966 billion fine and 85,966 billion UAH of penalties”, – said the representative of the AMC.

The penalty is 1.5% of the amount of the fine per day.

“Gazprom” has received the decision on March 4, and the period of voluntary payment has expired may 4, 2016.

The court will continue consideration of the claim of the AMC November 21.

Recall, October 5, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has submitted to economic court of Kiev the claim about compulsory collecting with “Gazprom” a fine of nearly 86 billion hryvnia. It is reported by the AMC. The claim for penalty interest and obligation to implement the decision of the Committee on the termination of violations of Antimonopoly legislation of Ukraine.

Earlier AMKU has fined “Gazprom” for abuse of monopoly position in transit via Ukraine by more than 85 billion. First Deputy Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Mariya Nizhnik noted that “Naftogaz of Ukraine” has the right to require double compensation from Gazprom for damages caused in connection with the monopoly violations during the transit of gas.
