The European Parliament’s Committee on civil liberties, justice and internal Affairs approved an agreement to provide the citizens of Georgia visa-free access to the Schengen area. About it reports a press-service of the European Parliament.

According to the report, Georgian citizens holding a biometric passport, may be in the area of the EU for 90 days and up to 180 days for business and tourist purposes.

The next step to a full visa liberalization is a decision at the plenary session of the European Parliament, which is likely to take place in February.

It is noted that the abolition of visas will enter into force on the day when the mechanism of suspension of the visa regime, which was approved on December 15. Now the expected completion of the official translation of legal texts.

We will remind, earlier the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the final decision regarding bezveza between Ukraine and the EU will be known in the spring. To this end, the European Parliament should vote on the mechanism to respond to migration risks.
