Klimkin explained when the can held a meeting of leaders “Norman Quartet”

The meeting of leaders “Norman Quartet” – the presidents of Ukraine, France and Russia, as well as the Chancellor of Germany, may take place only under condition of achievement of progress in the issue of further settlement of the situation in the Donbass.

This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.

“The meeting is always possible, but we need a result. If we have no result, why to gather on some level, not only to spend time, but in such a way to provoke some expectations regarding the possible outcomes of these meetings”, – UNIAN cites a quote of the foreign Minister.

According to Klimkin, to meet at any level is only when there is real peace and progress in the issue of release of prisoners.

Peskov said the meeting of leaders “Norman Quartet”

“If we have the prospect of any progress, if we have a future, at least for the fundamentally important issues for us, and I mean a real cease-fire, steps in relation to the hostages and at least start discussions on the road map, then we can reconvene at any time, at any level. If at least these three main things we have, what we are about. And then there is (question – Ed.) as to how we achieve results,” the Minister added.

Klimkin also added that in February at the Munich security conference together with foreign Ministers of Germany and France tried “to press Lavrov” that he even started a conversation regarding the “road map”. “

“He was not ready to even begin the conversation,” concluded the foreign Minister.

We will remind, earlier Klimkin said that during a meeting in Normandy format in Munich, Germany’s Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov tried to put a new status to the leaders of the militants, who call themselves leaders of the “DNR” and “LNR”.
