From engineering to electricity: Poroshenko and Lukashenko have agreed about expansion of markets

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko have agreed about expansion of markets for goods and services from Ukraine and Belarus.

About it reports a press-service of Administration of the President of Ukraine.

“We expect Belarusian companies to participate in tenders for construction of roads on the territory of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian builders are waiting on various tenders for the construction on the territory of Belarus,” – said Petro Poroshenko.

Also the leaders have also agreed to cooperate in energy security, maintaining and increasing the presence of Belarus on the market of oil products of Ukraine. In particular, there is an agreement on the possible export of Ukrainian electricity to Belarusian consumers.

The Ukrainian President noted that economic cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus came to a good results.

“The dynamics of growth of mutual trade turnover in 2016 indicates a sharp improvement in the economic situation in Ukraine. And the dynamics of the first two months of this year is even more promising”, – said Poroshenko.

“We agreed to give instruction to develop and sign an agreement on the restoration of production cooperation between our companies. In particular, this applies to the industry of agricultural mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, energy engineering, with increasing degree of localization of engineering products supplied to the Ukrainian market”, – said the President of Ukraine.

Alexander Lukashenko has noted that the Ukrainian market is one of the main markets for Belarusian enterprises and the Belarusian market for Ukrainian companies. According to him, Belarus takes the 4th place among trading partners of Ukraine, and Ukraine – 2nd among trade partners of Belarus. In Ukraine there are a few Belarusian companies, which, together with the Ukrainians release engineering products.

“We will expand the list of goods that will be jointly carried out in Belarus and Ukraine”, – said the President of Belarus. In particular we are talking about industrial cooperation in the agricultural, engineering, industrial, logistics sectors.

As previously reported, the anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko and said the friendship between the two countries. In response, Lukashenka said that the Belarusians will arrive on the territory of Ukraine “only on tractors” and will try to do everything for peace in Ukraine.
