Poroshenko said that France and Germany will continue to support the “Normandy format”
Official Paris and Berlin were given to understand that the functioning of the Normandy format talks on settling the situation in Donbas remains in force.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, reported the press service of the head of state.
“The first signal we got from Paris, Berlin is quite promising – that the functioning of the Normandy format will remain in force,” he said, noting that the first contacts with the Ukrainian side with the French has already occurred.
According to Poroshenko, the President’s Administration is working on preparing for the phone conversation with the new President of France, in particular, his main Advisor on foreign policy Kostiantyn Yeliseyev communicates with the new diplomatic adviser to the President of Emmanuel Macron.
“A vote for President of Macron to become effective demonstration of responsible choice of the French people. Attempt to distribute populist euroskeptic sentiment among the French population failed”, – said Poroshenko.
In addition, the head of state noted that Ukraine is vital that the issue of peace and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
