Sanctions against Russia should remain: Poroshenko and Tusk coordinated position before the G7 summit

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and European Council President Donald Tusk coordinated position before the summit “the Big seven” which will be held may 26-27.

About it reports a press-service of Administration of the President.

During a telephone conversation with Poroshenko, Tusk noted the absence of grounds for cancellation or easing of sanctions against Russia. He noted that the Russian side continues to violate the Minsk agreement.

According to the President of Ukraine, the assessment should be the basis for the decisions of leaders “the Big Seven” and the European Council on the extension of sanctions against Russia after July 31, 2017.

Also Poroshenko and Tusk agreed to hold the next summit “Ukraine – European Union” on 13 July in Kiev.

We will remind, during the previous G7 summit , the participating countries have extended the duration of sanctions against Moscow. This decision is associated with the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements by the Russian side.
