The President of Ukraine expressed hope for further support by France of the European aspirations of Ukraine. Separate attention was devoted on the situation in the Donbass as a result of Russian aggression. Petro Poroshenko informed Larcher on systemic violations of Minsk agreements by Russia and stressed the need to comply with the sanctions regime against the Kremlin.
The President of the Senate expressed support for the extension of sanctions against Russia.
The President of Ukraine invited a group of French senators to visit in the near future Ukraine and see the situation in the Donbas. But Poroshenko noted the inadmissibility of unauthorized visits by French members of the local level on the territory of the occupied Donbas and Crimea.
