Russia is supplying record volumes of gas to Europe through Ukraine

The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe over the past six years reached the highest rate in the summer season to 270 million cubic meters per day.

This is the state operator of the Ukrainian gas transportation system “Ukrtransgaz”.

Indicators transit began to rise in April of this year (plus 22%). Average daily transportation volumes of Russian gas through Ukraine’s GTS are: March – 214 million cubic meters, April – 245 million cubic meters, may – 249 million cubic meters, June – 250 million cubic meters, the beginning of July – 269,5 million cubic meters.

For April-June shipments to Ukraine blue fuel to the European consumers has reached a historic high over the past six years – 22.7 billion cubic meters. And since the beginning of this year, 45.7 billion cubic meters.

Compared to previous years, the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine increased

– 21% from 37.7 billion cubic meters in 2016

– 59% from 28.7 billion cubic meters in 2015

– 25% from 36.6 billion cubic meters in 2014

– 16% from 39.4 billion cubic meters in 2013

– 3% from the 44.4 billion cubic meters in 2012.

“The volume of transit in 2017 is also a record for the last six years, almost 7 billion cubic meters exceeds the average volume of transit in January-June in 2012-2016. Thus, the company remains a reliable and the largest for Gazprom’s transit of natural gas in the European direction”, – said the Ukrainian company.

Meanwhile in Russia said the future abandonment of gas transportation to Europe through Ukraine.
