Attorneys argue that Yanukovych decided to take this step after the previous court session June 29, where he allegedly was denied participation in the judicial process and the accession process of a number of witnesses.

“Were enacted key anti-legal illegal decisions on refusal of examination of witnesses in court. They were to refuse the participation of Jankovich in the process”, – said Serdyuk.

The Prosecutor in the case, Maxim Crimea made a motion to appoint the former President of the lawyer from the Center for free legal aid. After that, the presiding judge of Vladislav Devyatko adjourned the meeting until 10.00 on 12 July.

As previously reported, Obolon court of Kyiv allowed the special court proceedings in the case of Viktor Yanukovych. This permission provided because of the absence of Yanukovych, who would have to go with the court on the Skype connection. In absentia proceedings, the prosecutors insisted.

In November 2016 , the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko announced the suspicion of treason Viktor Yanukovych in the premises of Sviatoshynsky court, being in direct contact with the Rostov court, where the President is a fugitive. Yanukovych is accused of committing treason, aiding the authorities of the Russian Federation, intentional acts committed for the purpose of modifying the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine.
