The UIA responded to the accusations of the AMC in providing questionable discounts from “Borispol”
Tuesday, August 1, edition of the Ukrainian air force has published a response to its request to the Antimonopoly Committee (AMCU) regarding the provision of airport “Borispol” questionable discounts in the payment of airport charges for the airline MAU. Earlier, AMCU accused the UIA in receipt of appropriate benefits.
However, the press service of the airline in comments Dnia noted that any company that flies in Boryspil by law to receive discounts on an individual basis.
“There are clear criteria by which any company operating flights to/from the airport “Borispol” may get discounts. This, in particular, the order of the Ministry of transport and communications of Ukraine №337 dated March 26, 2008 and a public offer of the airport. These documents outline the fees at the airport depending on the traffic volume of the airlines,” said the MAU.

At the same time, the document, which is published by the Ukrainian air force says that the Committee considers the case “on the grounds of committing of GP “international airport “Boryspil” violation of legislation on protection of economic competition in the form of abuse of monopoly position on the market of specialized services.”
“GP “Boryspil”, having the characteristics of a monopoly (dominant) position on the market for the provision of specialized services of the airport within the territory of the location of the International airport “Borispol”, applied reduction factors to airport charges to one airline “Ukraine international Airlines”, – the document says.

The Antimonopoly Committee also recommended the airport “Borispol” to develop clear criteria for discounts on airport charges.
We will remind, earlier the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian also noted that the airline MAU has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of infrastructure, the Ryanair and the airport “Lviv”. According to documents released by the Minister, MAU believes that Ryanair received illegal benefits in Ukraine and privileged position, which MAU “was forced to reduce the cost of air transport”, which led to losses.

However, in the Antimonopoly Committee reported BBC Ukraine that UIA did not apply to him with complaints of violation of economic competition by the Ministry of infrastructure of “International airport “Boryspil”, “International airport “Lviv” or airline “Ryanair”.
“In the Committee there is no reliable information on granting/not granting GP “MA “Borispol” GP “MA “lions” “exclusive conditions” airline Ryanair and the application/complaint of other air carriers”, – added in the AMC.
