Russian investigators accused the military anti-terrorist operation in the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare

Russian investigators have opened three criminal cases against the Ukrainian military for the alleged use of prohibited means and methods of warfare.

This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

“On 28 July, 3 and August 4, 2017 Ukrainian soldiers, carrying out criminal orders of the higher officials of the Ministry of defense and the National guard of Ukraine has carried out the shelling of heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure, which are not military objectives, in the urban-type settlement of Staromykhailivka, Donetsk region, in the city of Pervomaisk of the Luhansk region, and in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk”, – said the investigators.

According to them, the shelling four civilians were injured, also were destroyed a number of houses.

“Representatives of power structures of Ukraine, the perpetrators of these heinous crimes, acted in violation of the Protocol on the termination of the use of weapons in the South-East of Ukraine and the Memorandum thereto, and the provisions of the Convention on the protection of civilian persons in time of war and Additional Protocol II thereto,” – added in the RF IC.

According to Russian investigators, the Ukrainian military “had the purpose of killing an unlimited circle of persons among the civilian population based on political and ideological hatred and enmity related to the refusal of the residents of Donbass to recognize the legitimacy of the current government and a desire to create their own administrative-territorial formation”.
