New lawyer Yanukovych on charges of treason confirmed his appointment
Lawyer Maxim Gerasim confirmed that he appointed a public defender deprived the title of President Viktor Yanukovych in case of high treason.
He reported about it to Interfax.
“Yes, this information is true. I was given instructions from the Centre to provide free legal aid,” he said.
According to him, he met with the previous defender Yanukovych in this case Vitaly Musicacom and he said that “in case there are no substantial documents and it is quite promising.”
Gerasim noted that his own position in it will form after studying the materials.

Obolon court of Kyiv allowed the special court proceedings in the case of Viktor Yanukovych. This resolution provided for the absence of Yanukovych, who would have to go with the court on the Skype connection. In absentia proceedings, the prosecutors insisted.
July 6, the lawyers of Viktor Yanukovych, Vitaliy Serdyuk and Igor Fedorenko announced their withdrawal from the trial in the Obolon district court of Kyiv. The defenders of the fugitive stressed that July 6 will not participate in the hearing because Yanukovych wrote a statement that waives their services.
