The PGO suspects Yanukovych, Lavrynovych and the constitutional revolution
The Prosecutor General’s office is investigating the case of the constitutional revolution of 2010, which led to the seizure of state power by extending presidential powers in Ukraine at the time of Viktor Yanukovych.
This was announced by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.
He added that it was an unconstitutional extension of the powers of the head of state by narrowing the role and powers of Parliament and government.

In fact, it is reported about suspicion to the former President Viktor Yanukovych and ex-Minister of justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych in the Commission together with other persons of the seizure of state power, including through the adoption of measures against illegal, without addressing the sole body of legislative power in Ukraine – the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the change of the Constitution by entering into the Unified state register of legal acts of the text of the Constitution of Ukraine of 1996 and its official publication.
Recall that in November last year, Yanukovych was declared a suspect in the treason. Lavrynovych and his staff, meanwhile, have been accused of embezzlement of budget funds totaling UAH 8.5 million (then $ 1.1 million U.S.) for the groundless and unlawful procurement of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine of services of the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Affiliates LLР (USA) under the guise of the need to obtain legal assistance during the preparation to consideration of the case “Tymoshenko V.
