The Hungarian Parliament unanimously condemned the controversial law on education in Ukraine – resolution

The Hungarian Parliament unanimously voted for a resolution that condemns the adoption in Ukraine of the law on education through the languages of national minorities.

As noted in the resolution, the Ukrainian education act seriously violates the rights of Hungarians living in Transcarpathia, in the education of their native language, and also contrary to several international instruments.

Besides, Hungarian MPs say that the education act violates the Constitution of Ukraine, according to which the adoption of new laws or amendments to existing shall not limit the existing rights, in particular, prohibited ethnic and language discrimination.
