Cabinet to allocate UAH 1 billion for the program “Affordable medicine” and expand the list of drugs
The Cabinet laid in the draft budget for 2018 1 billion UAH for financing of the program “Affordable medicine”.
This was announced by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman during a meeting of the government.
“6 months ago we launched a programme of affordable drugs. Our mission: a strong economy and strong social policy. More than 6.5 million people received prescriptions for free medicines. Next year, we are planting 1 billion in funding for the program. The list (of drugs) will be expanded, people will have greater access to drugs,” he said.
The head of government stressed that it is particularly important to pursue changes in the health care system, that people feel that improving quality of services.
The program “Affordable medicine”and provides free medicines or reimbursement of the cost of medicines from cardiovascular disease, asthma and diabetes. The program budget 2017 is more than 700 million UAH. Now more than 6.5 thousand of pharmacies are participating in the program.

Recall, the program was launched in Ukraine on April 1. Patients can free of charge or with a small surcharge to cure cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes and bronchial asthma. The program has made available medicines 157 items.
The government program “Affordable medicine” can expand the nosology and include drugs against childhood diseases, allergies, and for cancer patients.
