The organizers of the rally under the Verkhovna Rada summed up the interim results of the protests

The organizers of the rally “For greater political reform”, which took place on 17 October in Parliament, claiming that their action was successful, and urged his supporters to continue it.

This is stated in the joint statement of the organizers on the preliminary results of the all-Ukrainian action on 17 October.

The protesters demanded changes to the electoral law, the removal of parliamentary immunity and the creation of an anti-corruption court.

Organizers say they have achieved what bills about changes of the electoral legislation put to the vote in Parliament on Thursday, October 19 immediately after the medical reform and the draft law on the abolition of parliamentary immunity.

Also, the organizers 17.10 believe that forced President Petro Poroshenko to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to abolish the immunity of people’s deputies.

“Under the pressure of thousands of people on the streets of the President in the night from 16 to 17 October submitted to the Parliament as urgent a draft law under number 7203, which provides, by 2020, to abolish the immunity of people’s deputies”, – said in a statement.

But the organizers think it’s inappropriate deferral limitation of parliamentary immunity and I want this change took effect now.

As for the third item, “big political reform”, the organizers 17.10 say they have made a review of the President’s bill on anti-corruption chambers and forced the deputies to agree to the establishment of a special anti-corruption court.
