Ukraine strengthens strategic cooperation with Canada. That left the ocean Groisman

Reciprocal access to public procurement, unified environmental standards and the abolition of most tariffs on the import of Ukrainian goods is the result of cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the framework of the agreement on free trade zone.

This is stated in the plot of TSN.Ranok.

Yesterday in Ottawa the Prime Minister met with canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau, and urged local investors to look at Ukraine as a market of new opportunities.

“We value our relationship, they are of a truly strategic nature. I would like to thank for supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression, the support of our territorial integrity”, – said Groisman.

“Canada will always be on the side of Ukraine. From Russian military aggression and to any global sector,” said Trudeau.

Note that in the first half of 2017, the volume of trade in goods and services of Ukraine with Canada grew by 58% and amounted to USD 245 million. These figures cited by the press service of the Cabinet. The potential for further growth is significant: in the framework of the implementation of the Agreement on free trade zone Canada abolished for 98% of tariffs and restrictions, Ukraine – 72% and within seven years will bring the figure up to 99%. The parties provide reciprocal access to public procurement, align the environmental standards, labor standards, protection of intellectual property rights.

Groisman said that the time has come to extend the Agreement to services and investment.

“We appreciate the already existing projects. Among them there are some whom we are very proud of. To name only a few flagship – the national police, legal aid Centres, CUTIS, EDGE, support of local self-government of PROMIS,” – said Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Groisman and Trudeau discussed the priorities of the canadian chairmanship of the G7 in 2018. It is agreed that during the forthcoming summit “the Big seven” in June of 2018 the Ukrainian issue will be considered in the context of strengthening security and peace, and in the coordination of international support for Ukrainian reforms. The sides also discussed the situation in the East of Ukraine and possible deployment in Donbas peacekeeping operations under UN auspices.

Early in Canada called conditions for bezveza with Ukraine.
