Ukraine has twice increased import of coal, the main supplier – Russia

Ukraine in January-October of 2017, almost twice has increased import of coal and anthracite in comparison with the same period last year.

According to the State fiscal service of Ukraine, UNIAN reports.

In General, Ukraine has purchased coal 2,151 billion. More than half of imports came from Russia – 55,7%, or $ 1.2 billion. Also, coal is purchased in the United States (25%,4 or 546,8 million dollars), Australia (5.4%, or $ 116,4 million) and other countries (289,8 million dollars).

With regard to the export of coal from Ukraine, Russia also is in the first place. For the first 10 months of this year, Ukraine sold in this country coal 48.7 million dollars. In the second place Slovakia by 33 million dollars, then Turkey (2.6 million dollars) and other countries (3.9 million dollars).

Earlier it was reported that since mid-October , Russia started exporting charcoal illegally produced in the ATO zone, transit through the territory of Ukraine in Poland. Under this scheme, from Russia to Poland were delivered 45 cars, more than 3 thousand tons of anthracite.

It was also reported that the energy holding DTEK businessman Rinat Akhmetov plans to import coal to Ukraine from Russia with his mine “Obukhovskaya”, located in Rostov region. The volume of deliveries per month – about 100 thousand tons of anthracite coal.
