Ukraine and China plan to spend on joint projects $ 7 billion

Ukraine and China are reaching a new strategic level of cooperation in which frameworks it is planned to implement joint projects worth $ 7 billion.

This was reported on the website of the government with reference to the results of the meeting Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman, Vice-Premier of the State Council of China MA Kai in Kiev.

As noted, China has consistently supported Ukraine and is among the three largest trading partners of our country. For the first 9 months of this year trade turnover between the countries grew by 14.5% – up to 5.6 billion dollars.

Volodymyr Groysman said that Kiev is counting on the active participation of Chinese investors in large-scale privatization of Ukrainian assets.

“We will open new opportunities for investment, including through the adoption of new legislation on privatization, concessions. It can be a tool to attract capital to Ukraine”, – said the Prime Minister.

Groisman added that Ukraine is and will be a reliable partner for cross-border projects, especially logistics.

In turn, the MA Kai said that “We are willing to encourage investment and thus contribute to the economic recovery of Ukraine.” He noted that China pays great attention to cooperation with Ukraine in both political and trade-economic aspects.

China is interested in cooperation with Ukraine in the project “One belt and one road”, the infrastructure development and Agrosphere of Ukraine, and also in cooperation in aviation, space exploration and energy.

During the meeting, the sides signed several documents, in particular the action plan of Ukraine for construction of “Economic belt of the silk road” and the program of investment cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko also met with the Vice Premier of the State Council of China. The President urged the Chinese authorities to adhere to the policy of non-recognition of temporary occupation of Ukrainian Crimea and had expressed interest in the project “One belt and one road”.

We will remind, earlier the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko signed an agreement with Chinese companies regarding construction of metro troyeschina. He stressed that the construction of the bridge and the launch of a new metro line to approximately 400 million euros. Germany has already allocated 200 thousand Euro on the expert assessment of the condition of the bridge, and 85% of the projected cost of a new metro line will be provided by loans from Chinese financial institutions.
