In the “language” article of the education law changes will not make – paruby

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy paruby said that no amendments to the “language” article of the education law will not make.

He stated this at the conference for the Day of local self-government in Lviv region, the press service of the Parliament.

“The seventh article of the Law “On education” will not change. It will remain in the adopted version”, – he said.

Parubiy added that such conclusions were made after a conversation the speaker with representatives of the Venice Commission.

He noted that before the adoption of the law created numerous meetings, round tables. However, agreement on all items is not reached. So, the Chairman of the Parliament established a working group, through the activities of which managed to compromise.

Earlier it was reported that the Venice Commission came to the conclusion that the role of the state language can not be questioned, and is fully compliant with all international legal instruments international and regional organizations. In particular, the main thesis of conclusion is the fact that article 7 is a framework and is subject to further detail, in particular in the Law “On General secondary education”. The Ministry of education and science of Ukraine has agreed with this conclusion. Official opinion on the law on education will be published by the Venice Commission on 11 December.

It was also noted that the Venice Commission considers that Ukraine should amend the “language” article of the education law.
