In “Gazprom” do not intend to challenge the decision of the Stockholm arbitration on the dispute with Naftogaz

The Russian company “Gazprom” does not intend to appeal the decision of the Stockholm arbitration concerning a dispute with “Naftogaz of Ukraine”.

This was stated by the Deputy head of Board of concern Alexander Medvedev, reports “Interfax”.

“There is nothing new. The arbitration decision entered into force. To appeal? Why?” he said.

After the annexation of Crimea and war in Eastern Ukraine Ukraine ceased to pay for Russian gas at the predatory formula. At the end of December was the final decision. The Stockholm arbitration court took a decision on the other counter claims of “Naftogaz” and “Gazprom” for the purchase of gas in Russia. In particular, the Tribunal reversed the condition “take or pay” in the amount of $ 56 billion for 2012-2017, as well as lowered the cost of Russian gas for Ukraine by 27.4% from $ 485 per thousand cubic metres to $ 352, to the market.

Required annual volume of purchases of gas, “Naftogaz” from “Gazprom” is reduced ten – fold from 52 billion cubic meters to 5 billion cubic meters. Meanwhile, Gazprom said that Naftogaz needs to pay Russia $ 2 billion.
