Until the end of 2018, “Ukrzaliznytsya” plans to increase by 20-24% ticket prices for passenger trains. Planned the rising cost in two stages of 10-12% each in the second and third (or fourth) quarters.
In an interview with UNIAN said the acting head of “Railways” Evgeny Kravtsov.
“We have three years did not increase the price for passenger transportation. This increased the losses from passenger transportation. There are many examples where bus transportation is more expensive than rail. For example, the price of the reserved seat ticket Kiev-Konstantinovka – 88 hryvnia, and the bus is 300-500 hryvnias. The cost may not be so cheaper, because rail transport is more convenient”, – said Kravtsov.

“We are planning deregulation unsocial transport. This is the transport in SV and “intercity+”. Here we do not perform a social function, since the tickets there are not cheap and we should be able to set the price independently, depending on day of week, time of year, the time of sale, occupancy rates. We now have a corridor in accordance with the instructions at the rate”, – said the head of “Ukrzaliznytsya”.
Previously financial Director of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Andrey Ryazantsev said that after the calculations the carrier expects to receive over 11 billion hryvnias of losses from passenger traffic by the end of 2017.
