Meeting “Norman Quartet” in Munich finally broke

The meeting of foreign Ministers in the format “Norman Quartet” in Munich on Saturday will not take place. This was stated by Secretary, Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Marian Betz, UNIAN reports.

“The likelihood that this meeting will be held, zero,” she acknowledged. According to media reports, the reason was the lack of free time among the Russian delegation.

As reported, this meeting was to be held on Friday, however, the head of German foreign Minister immediately flew to Turkey in connection with important diplomats of Germany local event – the release into the wild of the arrested journalist. The Minister did not have time to return before the agreed start time of the meeting, so her vote was postponed on Saturday. The head of domestic foreign Ministry Pavlo Klimkin has called the problem a purely technical and expressed the hopethat the conversation will take place in the near future.

The hangout of the “Norman Quartet” in Munich fell through at the last minute

The exchange of prisoners and the liberation of Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia have to be discussed by the Ministers. However, the appointment fell through at the last moment. Instead, the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and his Russian counterpart met face-to-face. The forum also has arrived the President of Ukraine, who made a small speech to the participants of the first day of the security forum.
