Klimkin announced the appointment in the “channel format” in the near future
Meeting in Normandy format at the level of the foreign Ministers of Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia will be held soon.
This was a live broadcast of “freedom of speech”, said foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, writes UKRINFORM.
“On the sixth hour on Friday (February 16 – ed.) planned the Normandy meeting, then we were transferred several times. And as a result, by calls to each other, agreed that it would take place in the near future”, – said the diplomat.
According to him, the meeting in “Norman format” on the sidelines of the Munich security conference did not take place due to various reasons.

The exchange of prisoners and the liberation of Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia have to be discussed by the Ministers. However, the appointment fell through at the last moment. Instead, the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and his Russian counterpart met face-to-face. The forum also has arrived the President of Ukraine, who made a small speech to the participants of the first day of the security forum.

“Regarding the French Minister, he could not take part in the meeting from the very beginning”, – said Klimkin.
The foreign Minister also pointed to the fact that the last time he had a number of negotiations with representatives of France and Germany and therefore “contact”.
As reported, this meeting was to be held on Friday, however, the head of German foreign Minister immediately flew to Turkey in connection with important diplomats of Germany local event – the release into the wild of the arrested journalist. The Minister did not have time to return before the agreed start time of the meeting, so her vote was postponed on Saturday. The head of domestic foreign Ministry Pavlo Klimkin has called the problem a purely technical and expressed the hopethat the conversation will take place in the near future.
