Despite the fact that so much has been done, much more work still to come, – Wagner on the reform.
In Brussels follow the information regarding events around the NAB and anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office and “it does not make a good impression.”
This was stated by the head of Group of support of Ukraine in the European Commission Peter Wagner, writes “Radio Freedom”.
“We know about the events in Kiev. We monitor messages, though it is not our job to analyze and decide what happens…. Of course, this does not make a good impression when those who should fight corruption more struggling between them. Or not – maybe the time is just noise in the press, about which we cannot judge, or about which we learn only a few days,” he said.
However, speaking about the reforms in Ukraine and the experience of Brussels from them, Wagner said: “the Overall impression – what has happened in the last 3 years is more than happened in the previous 20”.
“Despite the fact that so much has been done, much more work is yet to come. And the third point – and it’s really important is where we are now and how things will move on? There is no sense that some changes are irreversible,” said Wagner.
“Reforms continue… Ukraine has decided to go this way and we are ready to stand. Yes, there are many issues such as the fight against corruption, but overall, we stand with Ukraine”, – he concluded.
