The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine Law of Ukraine on the border security of the state“.

About it reported in a press-service of the head of state.

“The implementation of the legislative act effectively to counter administrative offences on the state border of Ukraine, controlled border areas, and also in the control points of entrance-departure or on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

As noted, the law also introduces amendments to improve the measures that apply to the State border service in combating illegal migration on the state border, etc., in particular, changes to the Code of Ukraine on administrative offences, and also introduces two new types of administrative responsibility.

In addition the document introduces amendments to the laws “On ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal regime on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine”, “On State border service of Ukraine”, “Legal status of foreigners and persons without citizenship”, “About creation of free economic zone”Crimea” and “On the peculiarities of economic activities on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine”.

Note, according to the law, the punishment is withdrawn in the form of administrative arrest up to 15 days for illegal crossing of the state border and violation of order of entry in the temporarily occupied territory and departure from it.

At the same time introduced a fine up to 70 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 1190) for violation of the rules of entry/exit from the zone ATO.

In turn, if a foreigner or stateless person violates the prohibition of entry to Ukraine, he must pay a fine of 100 to 300 minimum (1,7-5,1 thousand hryvnia).

Recall from 1 January 2018, to take effect the new rules of crossing the Ukrainian border for the Russians, and stateless persons from 70 countries. In particular, at checkpoints during border control will record the biometric data (including fingerprints). The information received will be transferred to the National system of verification and identification of citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and persons without citizenship. This system allows you to control the length of stay of foreigners on the territory of Ukraine, and also it is connected to Interpol databases.
